Institute of Engineers Pakistan (IEP) and NED University of Engineering and Technology (NED UET) jointly organised a Global Conference on Green Construction Materials and Practices (GCGC2025).

One transformative moment was welcoming Dr Karen Scrivener (EPFL, LC3 Project – Low Carbon Cement) to Pakistan; we were delighted to host her. Her speech provided valuable insights into low-carbon construction and the future of LC3 cement in sustainable building.

Another major highlight was the inauguration of a model civil structure entirely constructed with LC3 Cement, marking a significant milestone in sustainable construction.

We were honoured to have Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui (Minister) – Federal Ministry of Science and Technology – present at the event, who appreciated the vision of low-carbon cement and its impact on Pakistan’s construction industry.

Mr Laurent Grimmeissen, MD of Cementis, shared key insights on net-zero cement, while industry leaders from across Pakistan reinforced their commitment to sustainable construction.

This conference was more than just an event; it was a turning point for Pakistan’s cement industry. I am grateful to all the esteemed speakers, industry leaders, and attendees who made this possible.
